Guidelines:

Adult Romance: - Romance with a spec twist (witches, ghosts, magic, timeloops, love spells, soulmates, etc.) - Romantasy (but the worldbuilding needs to feel very grounded and accessible with the focus more on the "rom" than the "fantasy") - Adventure and/or heist roms (the more bonkers, the better) - Contemporary romance/rom coms (though it needs to have a strong voice and strong hook) - Nerdy/fandom romances (comic con, cosplay, fanart/fanfic, D&D, etc.) - Sports roms (particularly BIPOC and/or LGBTQ) Adult Other: - Horror (funny, satirical, or meta) - Mystery/Thriller (with spec setting or twist, locked-room mystery, or strong romantic thread) - Women's fiction (must toe the line between women's fic and romance with strong character voice) - Grounded/accessible or low SFF (contemporary fantasy or near-future sci-fi preferred) YA Romance: - Contemporary with a strong hook - Laugh-out-loud romcoms - Romance with a speculative twist (magic, ghosts, timeloops, soul mates, etc.) YA SFF: - Lower SFF/accessible worldbuilding - Contemporary fantasy (light and fun or dark and spooky) - Magical academies/dark academia - Thought-provoking sci-fi that's near future or tech focused - Genre blending YA Other: - Mystery - Horror - Retellings/reimaginings (that don't stick TOO CLOSE to the source) - Illustrated graphic novels (not taking script-only submissions) Middle Grade: - Heartfelt, lyrical contemporary - Illustrated graphic novels (not taking script-only submissions) - Speculative fiction with preference for contemporary fantasy - Quirky, snarky characters/voice
