For adult fiction, she is most interested in: - Literary fiction (particularly if it has a great voice and explores complex relationships) - Mystery (especially proper whodunits; bonus points for fun, close-quarter settings) - Thriller (twisty, suspenseful, but no cop protagonists) - Upmarket women's fiction (preferably without a marriage- or children-related focus) - Science fiction (no space operas) - Fantasy (and magical realism) - Horror (the scarier the better) - Graphic novels (especially where the form adds further layers to the story) Projects with a smart, distinct voice, a fantastic setting to jump into, and/or a witty protagonist are all up her alley. She is not looking for romance novels but is open to rom-coms. For adult non-fiction, she's most drawn to projects that relay new information in an engaging way, primarily in the areas of creative non-fiction, humor, sports, how-to, pop culture, and true crime. She is not looking to represent memoir. For YA, she is primarily looking for a combination of light and dark elements and stories where the protagonist is compelled to change. She'd also like to see smart rom-coms where the romance isn't the central focus, and stories about growth and non-romantic relationships between friends or relatives. Bonus points if there's a sport involved!
